Sausage Sunday

Welcome The Kitchn/Apartment Therapy visitors and lovers of Kate Payne aka The Hip Girl’s Guide to Homemaking!

Below is flyer that I created when hosting a sausage making workshop last year at the Farm City festival in Brooklyn. It includes the main recipe we use, equipment needed and food needed. The recipe below is for lamb sausage but one could easily adapt it for pork sausage. More info to come as I update this page.

Let’s Do This: Afropunk Festival ’11, Aug 27-28 in Brooklyn, NY

What: AfroPunk 2011 Festival

When: August 27th – 28th

Where: Commodore Barry Park

Cost: $0/Free

I’ve never been able to make it to one of the festivals even though I’ve lived in Clinton Hill for the past 3.5 years. There’s always been a time conflict or I simply just missed the boat. Last year, the promoters decided to charge and that almost killed the show’s attendance. This year however, it’s back to being FREE, y’all. The line-up looks sick and I’ll actually be in town for this before I head out to Europe for 2.5 months. Here’s the line up, courtesy of the AfroPunk site:

Cee Lo Green, Janelle Monae, Fishbone, Santigold, Jay Electronica, Toro Y Moi, Res, Joi, Toshi Reagon, Ninjasonik, Cerebral Ballzy, Straight Line Stitch, Gordon Voidwell, Reggie Watts, Joe Jordans Experiment, Rocky Business

They’ll also have a BMX competition, food truck festival, a custom bike show and a skate artist wall. Now…who’s ready to come with me?

Career bubbles…

Is it just me or is “life coaching” the next career bubble that’s going to burst? That and “curatorial content” blogging seems to be another bubble that’s going to burst soon. How many more “curated” Brooklyn blogs do we need?
